Pre-school/Kindergarten Teacher Position
Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy
Position: The Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy (SSAJA) invites applications for a part-time energetic, caring and motivated teacher to fill an immediate vacancy in our preschool and kindergarten class and is comfortable with teaching up to the 3rd grade. The successful applicant must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good and regular standing (in accordance with Atlantic Union Conference rules), have at least a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience working in the areas of elementary and early childhood education. Preference will be given to certified teachers who have excellent classroom management abilities including the ability to work with a diverse population of children by creating an effective and pleasant classroom learning environment. Applicants with early childhood experience and/or Spanish language proficiency will also be given preference.
Environment: The Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Junior Academy is a preK to 8th grade school operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy and teaching of Seventh-day Adventist schools. It is our conviction that the SSAJA family exists to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve. SSAJA is supported locally by the Shiloh SDA Church. We operate in a family-friendly environment with an enrollment of ~35 students and five instructors who work collaboratively to ensure a productive learning environment. Our staff is well-trained with a combined average experience level that exceeds 15 years. The successful applicant will work directly with both preschool and kindergarten students during the course of a school day. Salary is negotiable.
